Full Color Pages

Two fully colored pages.
Notice the changes in color to the splash page.
The red background just didn't work out for me.

Censored! #2

Should be done with this one pretty soon.
8 pages of penguins, polar bears and really nasty language.
It's fun.
Still willing to send out Censored! #1 to anyone who wants it.
Not suitable for children or christians.

The Next Book!

Here are some pages from my next book.
These were done a while ago, but now that I've found Indy Planet, I can put 'em all together and have them in a really nice book.
28 black and white pages of comic strip goodness!

Splash page. Half colored.

Flat colors laid down. I'd like this to be a full color book, published by a big-time publisher.
If that doesn't work out, you'll be able to find it on Indy Planet pretty damn soon!

Coming Soon!

Here's the cover to my first ever published comic.
The big idea is to get six of these babies - each a standalone story - out this year, as well as my WWII book.
This should be on Indy Planet pretty soon.

Superman!

Did this story last year. It's fun. Need to re-work the craziness of the panels if I ever ink it.

Big Fat Loser

My submission into the Comic Book Challenge.
This WILL be turned into a book one day.

Simple and Effective

I like the way this one turned out.

3/3 of Page One.

...Aaaaaannnnd, now the whole thing...

2/3 of Page One.

2/3 of page one of my World War II story.
I think this story should be pretty good and fun.
It gets going fast, kicks some serious ass and ends at just the right spot.
Still thinking if I'm going to color it, color it with grays or use halftones.
Still have twenty-one and 1/3 pages to go before I tackle that one.

Pencils

Everyone has a World War II comic.
This wasn't an attempt to make one of my own, but i thought of a cool story and wanted to see it finished.
Let the inking begin!

Preliminary Drawings

I have a big drawing coming up with a lot of parts that's supposed to have a bunch of school kids doing various school kid kinds of things. So I started sketching what the kids should look like.

Then I drew the kid with the eyepatch with the missing arm and leg and it all went downhill from there.
But I think it's funny.

Loose Spidey Sketch

Spidey sketch. Less than three minutes of work.
I like it. I like to work loose.

2006 Easter Card

This was fun.
Tried to write and wrap up the whole thing in four pages.

Dead of Night, Page One

This is the full page featuring the pencils and inks that were previously posted.
This is a three page zombie story.
Had a lot of fun with this sucker.

Four Pages

Four page preview.
I like this comic and submitted it and it wasn't picked up.
Can't win 'em all.
But I will make it available to buy. I'd even like to finish the first four issues, if for no other reason to show that I tackled this beast.

Soldier Sketch

I'm working on a book that takes place during World War II.
It's big action and adventure.
This is me playing around with character ideas. Before I started this project I was sure - I was convinced - that I had no ability to draw an army helmet. So I did something groundbreakig and amazing and used some reference.
Now I'm confident with drawing army helmets.

Just a Sketch

I'm fourteen or fifteen pages into penciling a new book, so I figured I'd play aroudn with some inking/drawing. For me, it all comes out in the inking.

YEEE-HAW!

The theme this week - even though I didn't realize it while it was happening - was cows.

My First Ad

A publication needed an ad and they knew I did freelance illustration. So they asked me if I wanted to put an ad in their book.
Who knows if there are any potential clients who will get the book, but I love the ad.
Cows are funny.

Fun with Halftones

I liked the way this turned out and have been looking at halftone shading and gave it a try.
I have no idea if it's the right size halftone screen for printing at comic book size but it looks all right.
Either way, I'm pretty happy with the way it turned out.

I love this stuff!

Nice bright, colorful drawings for a preschool year book.
That's right, a yearbook for preschool kids. Don't know if they really need one, but they got some nice drawings to go in it.

More Drawing Goodness

This was a lot of fun to do.
and it only took a few hours.
Ka must have been with me for this one.
